Andover Free Tree Day a Success
On Saturday, April 5th, Andover Township participated in the tree seedling giveaway sponsored by the state. The Andover Township environmental committee along with Sustainable Andover organized the giveaway, to replace the fallen trees from Super Storm Sandy. The tree giveaway occurred at Hillside Park Barn.
Between 750 and 800 trees were given away by the Township, and the ones that were not picked up will be planted by Andover DPW workers in city parks. Some of the extra trees were also planted by girl scout volunteers from troop 762, with the help of Eric Olsen, chairman of Sustainable Andover, and Christine Kretzmer, chairwoman of the Environmental committee.
