Our township is a charming, small town, with a rural atmosphere. It is dotted with beautiful lakes, golf courses, and recreational facilities. The township boasts an excellent school system, outstanding police department, and dedicated volunteer rescue squad and fire organization.
Municipal Offices Hours
June 1 through October 30, the municipal building hours will be:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Wednesday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Check each department's hours of operation. Not all departments are staffed daily. Some employees participate in shared services agreements with other townships. Other departments are open on a part-time basis.

The document for submittal to the DEP of the Sussex County Wastewater Management Plan is being prepared. Existing and Future Sewer Service Area Maps are posted on the Sussex County website
. The draft County Wastewater management Plan will be on the agenda of the County Quality Policy Advisory Committee on April 9 at 7:30 p.m.

Sustainable Jersey is a statewide certification program for municipalities that want to go green, save money, and take steps to sustain their quality of life over the long term. Andover Township has joined this initiative and formed a Green Team comprised of volunteer community members. Based on the team’s efforts and a long history of environmental best practices by our township’s administrators, employees, resident,s and volunteers, Andover Township has recently earned a Bronze level certification through Sustainable Jersey. We are looking for more members to help us continue our township-wide initiatives that help create a more environmentally sustainable community for all of our residents to enjoy. 2013 Municipal Budget
Township Committee Supports Assembly Bill A-2753
The Township Committee passed a resolution in support of Assembly Bill A-2753 which would direct payment of energy taxes directly to municipal government.
They are now urging all of its citizens to show their support by writing their legislators to support this Bill and companion Bill S-1923 from the Senate. Click here

Susquehanna Roseland Project

includes a town-by-town construction schedule which explains the Project activities currently taking place.
Any and all public concerns or questions about the S-R Project should be directed to 1-888-771-7734. This is the dedicated Hot line number set up specifically for the Project, and calls are typically responded same day or within 24 business-day hours.
The Project is in full permit and regulatory compliance, and is under steady monitoring by those agencies with jurisdiction.

Attention Senior Citizens
The Greater Andover Senior Citizens are actively seeking new members. You must be 55 years of age or older. The Group meets on the first and third Monday of each month at the Senior Center on Route 517 S. in Andover Borough. Monthly trips and other activities such as in-house entertainment, catered luncheons, bingo and guest speakers are scheduled throughout the year. For information call Lois McCue at 973-383-3783.

Low Energy Assistance Program
The Department of Community Affairs recently announced that supplemental
benefits are available through the federally-funded Low Income Home
Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Eligible households do not need to reapply for the program to receive
supplemental benefits. The benefits are available because LIHEAP
funding for the year increased beyond the original projection provided
by the federal government. read more
Register with JCP&L for Programs to Keep Informed During Summer Storm Season
JCP&L customers who use electrically operated life support equipment or depend on private well water can register their account with the company to get updates on potential interruptions to their electric service, such as weather-related outages during the summer storm season.
JCP&L maintains a critical care list of customers who depend on electrically operated life support equipment. To be included on this list, every year customers must complete and submit an authorization form signed by their physician. The list is used to contact customers should an outage affect their electric service for more than 24 hours.
JCP&L also has a list of homes and businesses that depend on electrically operated private wells for water. These customers also are notified if a power outage is expected to affect their electric service for more than 24 hours, in which case they would be advised of locations where water and ice are available.
Both the critical care customer and private well customer lists are provided to county and municipal Offices of Emergency Management.
